Growth and Development
Trinity Lutheran Church operates its Christian preschool to assist parents in the God-given responsibility of providing for the spiritual, physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development of their children. This program does not replace the very important role of parenthood, but rather is used as an avenue to expand the child's background beyond the home.
Our goal is that the home and the preschool working together will stimulate your child's interests and develop his or her skills. Our mutual responsibility if to help your child.
In the preschool, the children receive training that helps them develop social consciousness in a truly Christian way. This training includes developing Christian skills for:
- getting along with others
- solving his/her problems
- learning and playing in a group
- achieving self-help
- sharing with others
- making a more pleasant transition from home to school.
Objectives
The following objectives form the basis of our preschool curriculum:
- To provide a loving atmosphere where the child feels acceptance and forgiveness.
- To elicit an enthusiasm for learning from each child.
- To encourage the child to develop a positive self-image and a sense of self as a competent, worthwhile individual.
- To stimulate the rapid learning years of a child so they can reach their highest potential.
- To encourage social and emotional development fo the child among peers and adults.
- To provide experiences to strengthen physical development of gross and fine motor skills.
- To establish a positive roundation for further learning.
- To help the child establish confidence "away from home."
- To provide for the awareness and knowledge of Jesus as Savior and Friend.
We hope that each child will learn to appreciate the wonders of God's creation and His great love in sending Jesus Christ as our Savior, to speak to God in prayer, and to lead a Christian life.
