What does classic and contemporary art have to do with
3, 4 and 5 year old preschoolers?
Everything!!!
The 2008-2009 school year brought a new class of students and a new piece of art curriculum to Trinity Lutheran Preschool. Designed to expose children to artists through the ages, the ArtStart program has been a big success, allowing children to create individual works reminiscent of the styles of Degas, Van Gogh and Mondrian, to name a few. One artist is highlighted each month and the children are given a short lesson about the life and works, then are encouraged to create their own works of art using various styles of media and techniques. Next year we hope to expand the program even more.
