Sunday Morning Elder's Class
Trinity Lutheran Church offers a number of different Bible Study opportunities. On Sunday mornings, from 9:00 - 10:00, the Elders lead the Early Word Bible Study. This is a group discussion on the assigned bible readings for the service the following week. The Old Testament reading, Epistle reading, and Gospel reading are all read and discussed. This is an excellent way to join in a Bible Study without committing to long-term attendance. Each lesson stands on its own and prepares the participants, in advance, for the coming message.
Today’s Light Group – Read through the Bible in 2 years!
This year, not only are we using the Today’s Light Bible, we are adding a kid’s group to this popular, informal Bible study group using Egermeier’s Children’s Bible Storybook and a Group that will read the Chronological Bible. Anyone can join and add their thoughts to the chatgroup on Yahoo!
The Today's Light Bible helps individuals and groups read and study the entire NIV Bible in just two years. The readings are broken down into daily portions that can be completed in just 15 minutes or less. There are also brief devotions based on the text that help readers understand and apply that day's Scripture selection to their lives.
College Bible Study
College students gather weekly, to study either a book of the Bible or a contemporary Christian book. This year’s study is based on the book UnChristian. The study usually meets in the evening on campus with dinner. Please check the Campus Ministry page for more information.
Home Bible Studies
There are typically two or three home Bible studies going on throughout the year. Sometimes these studies are on a book of scripture, sometimes the studies are simply a popular book, enhanced by a companion Bible study. They usually meet on a regular basis in the homes of members and are lead by the laity.
Men's Prayer Breakfast
The Men's Prayer Breakfast is a different Bible Study that is held the first Saturday of every month at 8:30 a.m. The men (and some women) gather for a companion book study and Bible study. Beginning Saturday December 6th our Men's Prayer Breakfast will be studying The Spirituality of the Cross, a book written by
Prof. Gene Edward Veith.
The study is led by both the men and pastor Foote. Each study concludes with a time of prayer. The coffee and food are great, and so is the fellowship. This study usually takes a break in the summer.
